“MODERN CINDERELLA”
BOYER AND IRENE DUNNE CO-STAR. Charles Boyer has been signed by Universal to co-star with Irene Dunne in "The Modern Cinderella," which John M. Stahl will place into production soon under his personal direction. Boyer was picked from a long list of candidates whom Producer-Director Stahl tested for the role. He and Miss Dunne shared starring honours in RKO’s "Love All’air” (the New Zealand title of which is "Nearest Thing
to Heaven”), a recent box-office sensation. "The Modern Cinderella." based on James M. Cain’s latest novel, will precede production at Universal of "First Love.” the Deanna Durbin vehicle in which Boyer is also scheduled to appear. Meanwhile, Miss Durbin will be starred in "After Schooldays." under direction of Henry Koster, with "First Love” slated to follow.
