POLICE CASES.
Cyril Singer was charged with having assaulted John McGimpsey and Athol Sewell on June 3; also with having used obscene language in a public place. The case was adjourned till next court day. Cyril Singer was charged with having been found on licensed premises after hours. He was convicted and fined 10s and 10s costs. Jack Hayes was charged with havingridden a motor cycle in a public place, the Carterton-Eketahuna main highway. he not being the holder of a licence. The Magistrate pointed out that accused had been recently fined £7 foi ■a similar offence. Accused must understand that he cannot treat the court’s ruling with contempt. He fined accused’£lo with costs 10s and prohibited him from obtaining a licence for 12 months. W. P. Milne, traffic inspector proceeded against H. G. Vickerstaff for having driven a motor car without being the holder of a current motor driver’s licence. Accused was fined 10s and costs 10s. Robert Ripley, for having failed to carry a warrant of fitness for his motor car was fined 10s and costs 10s. C. H. Nicholson, traffic inspector, proceeded against A.' J. Snelgrove for having failed to run his bus service to timetable. Defendant was fined £1 with costs 10s. IT. McHardy for having failed to carry a warrant of fitness war fined £1 and 10s costs. J. Udy, charged with having driven a car and not having a current motor drivbrs' licence, was fined ss« and costs 10s.
