The competition for a bag of sugar was won by M. Herangi. The dance music was supplied by local players. The proceeds were in aid of the local queen candidate, Miss Betty Sutton. The Green and Gold Ball and Queen Carnival will be held in the Memorial Hall, Pirinoa, on Wednesday, August 16. Preparations are well forward and it is expected that there will be a large crowd.
