CONGRATULATIONS
TO MASTERTON RACING CLUB. DIFFICULT YEAR FACED WITH COURAGE. “Carbine” at this juncture is desirous of taking the opportunity to extend sincere congratulations to the Masterton Racing Club for the courageous manner in which they faced and came through a difficult year. It is indeed pleasing to record that the club came through the trying ordeal with flying colours. To be faced with the necessity of altering the dates already set down for the meeting or abandoning it is no easy task, and the sportsmanship shown by the stewards of the club in continuing with the meeting is worthy of the highest possible praise. In passing "Carbine” would like to stress on the stewards of the Masterton ' Racing Club the importance of seriously considering the holding of the | one day meeting, which was brought ■ up at the recent annual meeting by I Messrs J. Macfarlane Laing and J. Bradbury, and trusts that this all important question will not be shelved without due thought and consideration. In conclusion "Carbine” wishes the club a bumper meeting in October.
