A milljon persons have been rendered homeless as a result of the flooding of 22 districts in Hopei Province. The Chinese say that the dykes of 10 rivers have been broken deliberately. converting central Hopei into a vast lake.
The rapid rise of the Han River is hampering the Japanese operations.
