SCHOOL ARTS

BIG DISPLAY LN MASTERTON OPENING TOMORROW. FINE EDUCATIONAL EXHIBIT. All forms of arts and crafts work will be on view in the Masterton Municipal Hall tomorrow and on Wednesday, when articles made by the pupils of 26 primary schools in the Wairarapa will be displayed. A selection will bo made from the display for forwarding to the Centennial Exhibition. It is slated I hat not for a considerable period has such a comprehensive educational exhibit been arranged in Masterton and t hat visitors will be agreeably surprised at Ihe excellence ami varietv of l he work.

The exhibition will be officially opened at 1 p.m. tomorrow. An invitation had been extended to the member for the district. Mr J. Robertson, to open the exhibition, but Mr Robertson finds it impossible to be present, as he has been appointed chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, a meeting of which is to be held tomorrow morning. Mrs Robertson will deputise for him at the exhibition opening and other speakers, besides Mrs Robertson, will include Messrs T. Jordan (Mayor of Masterton), and W. R. Nicol (a member of the Wellington Education Board).

The display will open tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 7.15 o’clock in the evening. On Wednesday, it will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be no charge for admission during the day sessions, but tomorrow evening, when a concert will be presented, a charge of Is will be made with a view to raising sufficient funds to meet expenses. A box in which donations may be placed will be located in the hall during the day sessions. The following schools will be participating in the exhibition: Mauriceville West, Mauriceville East, Whakataki, Tinui, Kaiparoro, Tiraumea, Alfredton, Putara, Konini, Ponatahi, Makuri, Scarborough, Dalefield, Te Whiti, Taueru, Carterton D.H., Featherston D.H.,' Central, Masterton West, Lansdowne, Fernridge, Solway and Whatman.
