Good progress is being made with the preliminary work for the Waikaremoana hydro-electric development scheme, and the area about Tuai at present is the scene of great activity. Extensive alterations are to be made to the school to provide accommodation for the anticipated large increase in roll numbers. Costing about £1,000,000, the power development scheme is one which offers many engineering problems.
