DOG WITH MANY FRIENDS

MEMORIAL TO PADDY THE WANDERER. It is doubtful if any dog ever had more friends among human beings than Paddy the Wanderer. Paddy died a few weeks ago, but the memory of this famous Airedale is to be perpetuated in Wellington, possibly with a drinking trough for dogs. The manager of Green Cabs said last night that £23 Is lid had already been collected toward the fund. Two or three lists have yet lo come in. the latest donation being £6 18s 2d from the Hot Dog Restaurant.. When the fund is completed a small committee of subscribers will meet to decide the form the memorial is to take and where it will be located. The suggestion that a small drinking trough for dogs would be a fitting way to commemorate Paddy has been made by several subscribers. Paddy’s photograph already adorns many hotel bars in Wellington—a tribute from man to dog.
