LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY PLAY.

OPERA HOUSE NEXT WEEK,

Two and a half hours’ entertainment of the most varied type will be offered to the Wairarapa public in the Masterton Opera House next Tuesday and Wednesday, when the Masterton Little Theatre Society present their third three-act play entitled “Family Affairs.” Written by Gertrude Jennings it was first played in London in August, 1934, and as the most recent of plays by this author it has”enjoyed a wonderful run of success. Mr L. Tamblyn who plays as “Sydney.” the eldest son of Lady Madehurst. takes the part of the prodigal son who unexpectedly returns to the old home. "Hannah,” the old family retainer, is played by Mrs R. Miller and Mrs B. Stubbings. mother's sister "Amy,” in her characterisation contributes a large proportion of the subtle humour which underlies the whole story. Marjory Mackay, as "Margaret,” the efficient, lovable and faithful secretary to “Harvey,” gives a touch of romance to the story which is added to by Jean Douglas playing as Mrs Percy Warick ("Helena”) who has matrimonial designs on “Harvey” but is prevented by failure to secure a divorce from her husband. The box plan is at Steele and Bulls’ and reservations may be made now.
