Playing against South Australia the New Zealand badminton team won by six rubbers to one. The visitors’ play was patchy and they appeared to be tired as the result of strenuous travelling. The manager, the Rev. H. W. Austin, expects an improvement. The smashing by the women players, particularly Miss M. Kerr, was a revelation to the South Australians, who were outclassed. Miss Kerr won 12/11, 11/3; P. Hawksworth won 15/9. 15/6; G. A. Pearce lost to Bicker, 4/15, 15/4 15/10; Hawksworth and Pearce won 15/13, 15/2; Hawksworth and Mrs Hawksworth won 15/2, 15/2; Miss Kerr and Pearce won 15/10, 15/7; Hawksworth and Miss Kerr won 15/6, 15/12. In matches in Tasmania New Zealand defeated Burnie by eight rubbers to nil and lost to Northern Tasmania at Launceston by two rubbers to six. New Zealand defeated Hobart by nine rubbers to seven. The match in Melbourne was lost by three rubbers to four.
