“THE LINK”
ORGANISATION IN BRITAIN CHALLENGED BY HOME SECRETARY. “INSTRUMENT OF GERMAN PROPAGANDA.” By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, August 3. While Sir Samuel Hoare (Home Secretary) was making a statement in the House of Commons to the effect that a professedly non-party organisation, “The Link,” was being used as an instrument of German propaganda, supported by German funds, its chairman, Admiral Domville, at present in Salzburg, was arranging the formation of a similar organisation in Germany. Members of the council of The Link include Sir Raymond Beas- ■ ley. Lord Sempill, Lord Redesdale 1 and Mr Arthur Laurie.
Another councillor, Mr C. E. Carroll, stated that Sir Samuel Hoare is remarkably ill-informed. “We offered access to all books and papers of The Link, ’ he said, "but he has not taken advantage of the offer. We are most anxious not only to make the German viewpoint known in Britain, but to make the British viewpoint known in Germany.”
