MEETING OF GUILD DISPLAY OF OLD ARTICLES. (“Times-Age’* Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kahau-tara-Pahautea Guild was held in Kahautara Hall on Tuesday when Mrs J. Carne Bidwill presided over a good attendance. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mrs Chas. Matthews and family in their recent bereavement. Interesting possessions described by their owners provided capital entertainment. Among the articles displayed were a clock 130 years old, serviette rings made from Turkish shells, wedgewood plate 200 years old, sand from the Gaza battlefield, water from the River Jordan, an umbrella used by a bride 75 years ago, clogs from Lancashire, wooden spoons carved from the wood of the original foundation of one of the wings of Westminster Abbey, a photograph of a typhoon experienced in Hong Kong in 1906 and interesting paintings and pictures. The tea hostess were Mesdames Graham, Rendle and Pope. Schoo! Visit. The Featherston High School visited Martinborough on Wednesday. In a football match, Featherston lost to Martinborough 6-3, and at basketball Featherston won by 13 to 8 and by 10 to 6. Personal. Mr and Mrs A. C. Paget, of Pahiatua, who have been guests of Mrs Juno, have returned home. Mr Hedley, Masterton, has purchased the Carman estate at Pahautea.
