CHRISTIAN YOUTH
' PROCEEDINGS OF WORLD CONFERENCE DISAGREEMENT ON WAR SERVICE. THE DEFENCE OF TRUTH. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, August 2. The world conference of Christian Youth was unable to agree whether a Christian was ever justified in fighting. A large number of conscientious objectors were among the delegates. “We condemn war, although we disagree on the issue of personal participation,” said a report. Other conclusions reached included the necessity for Christian aid to the victims of war persecution and to defend truth against tendentious propaganda. The delegates pledged themselves to maintain Christian unity, which it was hoped eventually would lead to a united world church.
