AUSTRALIAN OPEN GOLF TOURNEY. NEARLY FIFTY COMPETITORS EXCLUDED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, August 2. Nearly fifty entries, including that of Miss Babe Didrikson, have been rejected for the Australian open golf championship, to be played on the Royal Melbourne Club’s course on August 24, 25 and 26. The match committee, in a statement said: “Because of the large number of entries received (183). the match committee of the Royal Melbourne Club has decided to reject all entrants with handicaps of mere than two from standard scratch or five from par. The entries accepted total 135."
