TRAP SHOOTING
NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING W. G. RAE SCORES ANOTHER WIN CONCLUDING EVENTS TODAY. e Shooting 20 birds out of a possible of 21, W. G. Rae, Tauranga, won the North Island 28-yard championship at Masterton yesterday. On Tuesday Mr Rae won the North Island 21-yard championship after shooting off with J. Syme. Dannevirke. Six shooters with 17 birds tied for second place and in the shoot off H. Belk. Taihape, emerged the winner, with R. A. Buick, Masterton, third. Today the Open Clay Handicap and the North Island Clay Bird Championship is being shot. CLAY HANDICAP. In the £5O Open Clay Handicap, at the end of the 18th round T. Wrigley,. J. Udy, D. McKenzie, R. Walker and H. K. Smith were all in, one more round to go. Udy was in great form and had not found it necessary to use his second barrel. J. Udy (Masterton Gun Club), D. McKenzie (Masterton Gun Club) and R. Walker (Carterton Gun Club) tied and divided the prize money. In the North Island Clay Bird Championship, after nine rounds had been shot, seven shooters had broken all birds.
