AMALGAMATION PLANS
NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN RHODESIA. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. August 1. The Dominion Secretary, Sir Thomas Inskip, stated in the House of Commons in reply to a question today: “The Colonial Secretary and I had conversations with the Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia on the subject of the recommendations in the report of the Rhodesia and Nyassaland Royal Commission concerning the relations of Northern and Southern Rhodesia. These discussions are still progressing and his Majesty’s Governnment is not in a position to make a statement as to their outcome."
