RABBITSKIN SALE
ALL DESCRIPTIONS IN DEMAND. Because of the abnormal weather conditions prevailing during the last week or so the offering of rabbitskins at Tuesday's auction in Dunedin was much smaller, only 42 tons being forward. All the principal fur-buying houses were represented and it was noticeable at the start of the sale that all descriptibns were in demand. America was buying strongly, some parcels went to Australia, and New Zealand furriers gave support. Winter grades, which were in short supply, were in request, specially bucks, and these appreciated 3d to 9d. Does also sold well, and were about par. Hatters’ grades were well up to the level of previous quotations and at times were dearer. Prime winter bucks sold to IOOd, which is the top price of the season, first winter bucks to 99d, prime winter does to 491 d, and first winter does to 47d. The official range of prices is as follows: — Small, lid to llld a lb; runners, 16d to 163 d; light racks, 20d to 21d; prime racks, 18jd to 19.’d; summer bucks, 143 d to 17d; summer does, 14d to 17.3 d; dawny autumns, 22Jd to 23.3 d; first early autumns, 233 d to 253 d; first late autumns, 29jd to 363 d; first incomings, 33d to 40d; first early winter bucks, 51d to 65id; first early winter does, 33d to 393 d; spotted winter bucks. 55d to 67d; spotted winter does, 29.3 d to 313 d; second winter bucks, 843 d to 89d; first winter does, 423 d to 47d. Prime winter bucks, 97d to lOOd; prime winter does, 44d to 49]d; outgoing winter bucks, 46d to 58id; outgoing winter does, 25.1 d to 27d; furrier does. 383 d to 40Jd; spring bucks. 35.3 d to 443 d; spring does, 223 d to 253 d; stained does, 25.1 d to 25.3 d; first milky, 163 d to 223 d; milky, 16id to 171 d; second winter broken, 23Jd to 26d; first winter broken, 263 d to 291 d; summer fawns, to 20d; autumn fawns, 38d to 42d; first winter fawns, 721 d to 86d; summer black, 103 d to 14d; autumn black, 18d to 26.3 d; first winter black, 39Jd to 44d.
