WOMAN’S INJURED EYE. CLAIM AGAINST AUSTRALIAN COACH. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day. 11.35 a.m.) HONOLULU. August 1. Miss Mary Jane Birkehind. of Honolulu, formerly of Hollywood has sued the Australian swimming coach, Hay, for 20,000 dollars for an eye injury suffered at a picnic ten days ago. She alleged that Hay “negligently and carelessly threw a bottle, striking plaintiff and cutting and bruising her head in the vicinity of the eye." Hay is here pending a settlement of negotiations concerning a Japan swimming trip. _______
