IMPROVING POSITION IN BRITAIN.

RUGBY. July 31

A return from the Ministry of Labour reveals a striking shrinkage in the number of unemployed and an increase in employment. At July 10 the number of insured persons in employment in Britain was approximately 12.912.000 —102,000 more than the total for June 12. and 056,000 more than July 18, 1938. The number of unemployed on the register at the same date was 1.256,424. This was 93.155 less than in June, and 516.692 less than in July. 1938.
