Mrs Frank Wall, Martinborough, is visiting Wellington. Miss Hull Lower Hutt, spent the weekend in Masterton.

Miss Enid Michael. Wellington, spent the weekend in Masterton.

Miss Peggy James, Pownall Street, Masterton. is visiting Wellington. Mr and Mrs F. C. Cameron, Flat Point, are on a holiday visit to Honolulu. Mrs H. Swan, of Te Awamutu, is spending a fortnight with her mother, Mrs C. Fairbrother, Dalefield. Miss Norma Miller, of “Helmieh,” Ohingaiti (Rangitikei), is a visitor to Masterton.

Mr and Mrs Rowe are Napier visitors to Masterton and are staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel.

Mrs H. E. Haggitt, Mataikona, is staying with her sister Mrs W. L. Hunter. Coradine Street, Masterton. Mrs S. L. Free, High Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Wellington.

Mrs Barclay, who has been staying with Mrs E. G. Eton, Cornwall Street, Masterton, is returning to Waitara this week

Miss Jean Smith, Lincoln Road, Carterton, has been appointed to the nurses staff of the Masterton public hospital, and will take up her duties on Tuesday.

The whole British speaking film and stage world, and legions of admirers will gladly welcome the news that Gracie Fields continues to give every sign of a complete recovery from the very serious operation she recently underwent in London. Daily she has been’ the recipient of cables, letters, flowers and delicacies, from her host of admirers. A regular inquirer as to the progress of Miss Fields, is no less a personage than Queen Mary.
