GOLF COMPETITIONS CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) On the local golf links Trevor Hume defeated G. Munro by 3 and 2 in the eliminating round for the senior championship and W. Stuart beat G. Sutherland. In the Deighly Cup competition S. Hall, receiving 11 strokes, defeated B. McMaster. G. Munro is equal with McMaster with twelve wins each, and it will be necessary for them to play off. Munro is the present holder. “ Personal Items. Mrs Mclssac, who is in hospital, is progressing favourably. Mr M. Waiwera, who is in the Greytown hospital, expects to return to his home today. Friends of Mrs Taurau, who underwent a serious operation in the Greytown hospital recently, will be pleased to know that she is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. Mr and Mrs J. Hutchison were the guests of Mr and Mrs W. Hill, Hinakura, at the weekend. Basketball Match. A basketball team from the local school played a return match with the Kahutara team at Kahutara and defeated them by 5 goals to 1.
