WOOL MARKET
CRUTCHING SALE AT NAPIER. SPIRITED BIDDING WITH PRICES FIRM. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, July 28. Prices were firm on recent quotations at the winter sale of crutchings and oddments of wool held in Napier this afternoon. A large and representative bench of buyers attended and spirited bidding was experienced throughout. Some 3200 bales were offered, the majority being sold under the hammer. Buying was well distributed among Australia, Bradford and the Continent. New Zealand representatives were comparatively quiet. The bulk of the crutchings was rather shorter and a shade finer than at last year's clearing sale, but the general condition was much the same. A few lines of fleece also sold well; in some cases prices were 2d to 3d higher than at the close of the last selling season. The range of prices is:—
d. d. Supers 10 to HI Good 8J to 9S Average 8 to 8-J Inferior G| to 71 Light seedy 81 to 91 Seedy 65 to 7 J Heavy seedy 41 to 6 Good crossbred 12 to 13J Average 10 to 111 Inferior 71 to 9
