CURRIED FOWL

A DISH FOR COLD DAY. An old boiling fowl maj' be used for this, or the remains of a previously cooked fowl. Cut the fowl into small pieces with 2oz butter, 2 tablespoons curry powder, water, 2 onions, 2 sour apples finely grated or chopped, loz ground rice. Tvlelt the butter in a saucepan, put in the fowl, cook for 5 minutes and lift out carefully. Then stir in the apples, onions and curry. When well mixed, add the ground rice, mixed to a paste with cold water. Stir and boil gently for a few minutes, then put in the fowl, and salt to taste. Simmer gently till tender. Serve with boiled rice and a sprinkling of parsley.
