SUCCESSFUL GATHERING
GAY NIGHT AT KOPUARANGA.
LIST OF LADIES’ DRESSES.
(“Timss-Age” Special.)
The Kopuaranga Hall presented a gay scene on Tuesday night, the occasion being the fifth annual Settlers’ Ball. The hall was decorated with greenery, and a canopy of coloured streamers and silver stars. Confetti and streamer dances added to the gaiety of the scene.
Excellent music was supplied by the Blue River Dance Band and the duties of M.C’s. were capably carried out by Messrs C. P. Jarrett and M. Clarke. The success of the gathering was largely due to the organisation and untiring efforts of the secretary, Mrs S. J. Clarke, who wore a frock of black georgette. Other members of the committee were: Mrs A. B. Cottle, salmon pink crepe; Mrs C. P. Jarrett, green crinkle crepe; Mrs R. Kenny, blue floral crepe de chene; Mrs E. J. Wright, black panne velvet; Mrs E. C. Cottle ,black moire silk; Mrs Reside, floral georgette; Mrs W. J. Cottle, black; Miss G. Hibbard, floral sheer velvet; Miss M. Wright, cyclamen ring velvet; Messrs S. J. Clarke, C. P. Jarrett. W. Reside, R. Cottle, H. A. Evans, M. Clarke.
Special thanks are due to Mesdames E. J. Wright and C. P. Jarrett and Mr H. Evans for their generous help. Visitors were present from various parts of the Wairarapa and Bush. Dancing was continued until a late hour.
