Fourteen ladies were present at the monthly meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Masterton Y.M.C.A.. held yesterday afternoon. the president iMrs Beecroft) being in the chair. On behalf of the rpembers of the auxiliary, Mrs Beecroft extended a welcome to Mrs McKee Wright. It was explained that the proposed juvenile concert had had to be postponed, as the Opera House was not available on the date that had been arranged. It was definitely decided to hold the concert on Thursday, September 14.

Mention was made of the card evening, held in the hall on Monday evening last. It was explained that, although the bad weather and other attractions somewhat affected the attendance, the evening was very successful and those attending had expressed a desire for further functions of the kind. It was arranged that another card evening be held on Monday, August 14. Preliminary discussion took place on the proposed children’s party, to be held later in the year, probably towards Christmas. At the conclusion of the meeting an excellent afternoon tea was served by the hostesses for the month. Mesdames Williams, Coddington and Prescott.
