Mc|<ay (Vancouver), 6-0, 6?0, and H. Hopman (Australia) peat N. Musetart (Vancouver) by a similar score. In the doubles, Bromwich and Hqprnan beat G. Grennan apd B. Brammel (Vancouver), also without the loss of a game. finals for Saturday ape predicted, reversing the perennial Californian victories. PRAISE FOR BROMyV|,CH. “EMPIRE'S WHITE HQPE.” VANCOUVER, July 25. In a private work-out on Sunday Bromwich amazed the Vancouver star. Jack Brawn, who declared, “Bromwich’s two handed style is devastatingly baffling. NEW YORK, July 25
Mako defaulted in the singles and doubles at the opening of the Seabright tournament today, but ,on the insistence of Mr Walter Pate, the non-playing' captain of the American Davis Gup team, he is re-entering the doubles.
Mako pleaded back injury and said he could not play for a fortnight, but Mr Pate instructed him to make himself available, and asked the tournament committee to include Mako and Sabin in tHe doubles draw.
Every important contender for the American team is entered —Riggs, Mako, Grant, Cooke, Parker, Mulloy, and Sain, seeded ip that order.

(Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) SEABRIGHT, July 25. Crawford defeated' Umstaedter, 6/2, 6/2; Quist and Crawford defeated Fisbach and Bellis, 6/2, |G/3. Crawford tomorrow will meet Grant, who claims that he has never lost a match to Australians. Parker,' Sabiri and Riggs also won their pratch.es today.
