CALL AT NOUMEA
JAPANESE SHIPS RUNNING FROM NEW ZEALAND. IBy Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. July 25. A new call for ships in the Yamashita Kisen Kaisha Line’s service between Japan and New Zealand was announced today by Russell and Somers, Limited. Auckland agents. The ships will now visit Noumea, New Caledonia, on their return voyages from New Zealand to Japan, taking cargo from the Dominion to the French port.
The first vessel to make the call will be the steamer Naniwa Maru, which is loading for Japan at Auckland during the discharge of Japanese cargo. She will leave Lyttelton next week for Noumea. This will be the first time that Noumea has been placed on the regular homeward schedule of the company's ships, which usually call at the port on outward voyages to discharge cargo from Japan:
