WRESTLING TONIGHT
BOESCH v. CLARKE.
The Opera House will not be l cold
tonight in fad it will probably be very
pi warm —in every sense of the word, j I and patrons will have no regrets at leaving their firesides to see the proIfessional match between Paul ("Bombshell") Boesch and Jim ("Dazzler") Clarke, which will bo preceded by New • Zealand’s amateur heavyweight chain- ? pion, Jim Dryden, of Wairarapa, cn- ! gaging in a 5-round match with Sian, i Williams, amateur heavyweight of , Otago. On account of difficulty in get- ; ting a capable opponent Dryden obtains very few opportunities of showing his capabilities in the ring but the local association has been fortunate in arranging this match with Williams, who is capable of extending Dryden, and the match promises to be very willing. Patrons should be careful to be seated in time to see it. The other amateur preliminaries are specially selected for the ability of the contestants Io give spirited displays. The programme for the evening promises to be one of the best, and as the two professionals have big reputations for fast and spectacular wrestling • a full house is expected. To ensure a seat patrons are urged to book at W. C. Orange's, Queen Street, Masterton. or at Colson's Bookshop, at Carterton. The amateur preliminaries are as follow: —R. Edwards (Masterton) 10.4 v. P. Simmonds (Featherston) 10.4; R. Sutherland (Masterton) 11.0 v. R. Me-1 Glashan (Eketahuna) 10.10; J. Dryden [ I (Featherston) 17.6 v. S. Williams (Wel- : I lington) 16.8. Emergencies: D. Faulk-1 ner (Eketahuna) 10.2 v. R. Reid (Fea-1 I therston) 10.7.
