Johnstone, a New Zealand racing man, said that the monetary restrictions in New Zealand have forced him to “sponge on his friends" for a holiday in Australia. He said: “I have to live on my friends here as the Reserve Bank would not give me my money. I am landing here without shilling from the bank.”
