NEW TAXATION MEASURES IN FRANCE. LOANS TO ALL PARENTS. By Telegraph—P ~s Association—Copyright. PARIS. July 24. The French Government has agreed to provide £6.000.000 yearly to encourage the youth of France to marry. Bachelors and couples without children will be taxed to assist to finance the scheme.
Loans will be granted to couples without distinction, the repayments dropping with the birth of each child. Other measures are special travelling rates for big families and lump sums tor peasants agreeing to stay on the land when they marry.
