No Contribution to History

"As far as I can see this council is only a debt-collecting agency for these fellows, and I cannot see why we should go to the extent of paying for a compilation of such a history in Christchurch,” said Councillor P. The cost was estimated at £l2OO, and under an allocation based on the mean percentage between population and capital value, the Temuka council's proportion was £6 16s Id. It was decided that the council's previous decision not to contribute be adhered to.

Nominations for officers and members of the general committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association will close with the secretary at 5 p.m. on Wednesday next.
