I WAIRARAPA GAMES SEVERAL INTERESTING CONTESTS IDEAL CONDITIONS ON SATURDAY. Ideal conditions prevailed for the continuation of the Wairarapa Hockey Association's games played on Saturday. Owing to Wesley forfeiting their . game to Hastwells, there was only one , senior game played. This contest took place at Carterton between Daleficld and Kiwi. After a very evenly contested game the honours went to Dalefield by 5/3. Some very interesting games were played in the junior division but the position of the teams remain unchanged with Wesley and College still on even terms at the head of the competition. Senior. Dalefield beat Kiwi, 5/3. Hastwells boat Wesley, by default. Carterton, a bye. Junior. College beat College Old Boys, 4/3. Wesley beat Carterton, 7/0. Dalefield beat Greytown, 4/2. Third Grade. Wesley beat Carterton, 6/0. Greytown Scouts beat College, 5/1. REPRESENTATIVE GAMES AGAINST MANAWATU ON SATURDAY. Word has been received in Masterton that the Wairarapa A and B teams will meet the Manawatu A and B teams at Palmerston North on Saturday next. The A team will be the combination which will play for the Nordern Cup. WOMEN’S HOCKEY “KIA TOA” CUP. The Wairarapa Women’s Hockey Association games were continued on Saturday. In the senior division a start was made with the “Kia Toa” Cup games. All the games were staged on the Lansdowne grounds, and resulted in wins for College, Excelsior and Kia Ora A. Excelsior had a hard game with Carterton and only just won in the last five minutes by two goals to nil. College were too fast for Kia Ora B and ran up the big total of 11 goals to nil, while Kia Ora were all out to get the verdict from Kiwi by 2 goals to nil. Results: — Excelsior beat Carterton, 2/0. Kio Ora A beat Kiwi, 2/0. College beat Kia Ora B, 11/0. Junior. Excelsior beat College B. 6/1. College Old Girls beat College C, 4/0. College A beat Carterton, 3/0. Featherston beat College D, 8/0.
