e ament Quist defeated Low, 6/0, 6/3, s 6/3, and now enters the finals. Quist 3 never gave the American a chance. j: DOUBLES PLAYERS IN DAVIS CUP. , QUIST AND CRAWFORD BEING ; TRIED OUT. ' (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) J BOSTON, July 21. ' Considerable interest was expressed :n tennis circles when it became known that Quist and Crawford intend , o play in the doubles at the Seabright ' tournament next week, although Quist , may net play in the singles. ; Mako and Parker and Mulloy and ; Doeg, who arc competing in the doubles at the present tournament here. , are considered “experimental teams" ! which the American Davis Cup com- . mittee is testing out. These combinations are also expected to compete at Scabright as well as Cooke and Riggs, it is felt that Hopman in sending Quist and Crawford into various eastern matches as doubles players against combinations from which the American doubles team will be chosen shows that he is fairly definitely determined to name Quist and Crawford the doubles players for the impending and most important Davis Cup contest despite the fact that he used Quist and Bromwich earlier in the North American season. It is felt that only a bad showing by Quist and Crawford here and at Seabright will make Hopman revent to the Quist-Bromwich combination. DOUBLES QUARTER FINAL. CRAWFORD AND QUIST WIN.
