MR ROOSEVELT CONDEMNS SENATE NICE LITTLE BUSINESS BOOM KILLED. ATMOSPHERE OF UNCERTAINTY CREATED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 21. A Hyde Park message states that President Roosevelt, at a Press conference, said: “The refusal of the Senate to act this session regarding neutrality has killed off a nice little business boom, due to the uncertainty created in business circles, and will have an adverse economic effect until next January, when Congress will again be convened.” The President said an analysis of forty-five nation-wide newspaper editorials showed a widespread demand, regardless of political affiliations, for having something done to make the United States neutral and to avert war.”
