APPLICATIONS are invited from men with previous Service experience in His Majesty's Forces to fill eight vacancies for drill and physical training instructors in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Succesful applicants will be enlisted in Group V with rank and pay according to their qualifications. Technical instruction is an advantage. 3 MACHINE TOOL SETTERS AND OPERATORS. —Experienced in fitting and turning. G CARPENTERS. —Applicants required to have knowledge of use of tools and cabinet making and joining. 10 COOKS. 6 MEDICAL ORDERLIES. 30 CLERKS. —General duties. Applicants to have good education and knowledge of typing, office procedure and routine. Knowledge of shorthand is an advantage. 10 CLERKS (ACCOUNTING) 35 EQUIPMENT ASSISTANTS Applicants to have good education and knowledge of ledger keeping, also stores experience. Within the next year 500 Flight Mechanics and Riggers will be enlisted in batches of 50 or 100, and will be posted to Air Force Stations for training. A large number of recruits in other trades will also be enlisted during the next 12 months. Initial period of service will be for 8 years Regular and 4 years Reserve. Applicants must be: —• (1) Single. (2) Between the ages of 18 and 25 years. (3) Passed the Sixth Standard. (4) Able to pass the necessary medical examination. (5) To have some trade experience. Applications close August 1, 1939, but any received after that date will be considered for a later enlistment.
