LONDON QUOTATIONS LAMB MARKET STEADY. WETHER PRICES FIRMER. Lamb market: Steady, with prices practically. unchanged. Consumption satisfactory. Mutton market: Wethers, better inquiry, with prices firmer; ewes, quiet, prices steady. Beef market: Frozen beef, better trade owing to higher chilled prices. Chilled beef, firmer on the lighter supplies, and good demand. New Zealand porker pigs: Quiet, with little change in prices. New Zealand baconer pigs: Steady owing to light stocks. Boneless bobby veal: Firm on short spot stocks. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board from its London office, which advises that the following are the ruling prices of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday. New Zealand prime ox beef, 160/220, none offering. Compared with last week’s quotations, crossbred lamb, 36/421b5., and second quality lamb are l-8d per lb. lower; wethers, 48/641b5., l-8d per lb. higher; others unchanged. The market is steady.
