GERMANS ON THE POLISH FRONTIER ANTI-TANK GUNS TAKEN TO DANZIG. SOLDIERS EXERCISING IN SUBURB. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, July 20. German sappers are speeding up anti-tank defences facing the Polish frontier near Gydnia. Military lorries without registration plates brought 20 anti-tank guns and ammunition to Danzig. Several hundred soldiers took part in military exercises in Langfuhr, which is a Danzig suburb. They wore steel helmets and field grey uniforms with the “S.S.” and also a swastika on them and carried new rifles. The Warsaw correspondent of "The Times” states that the Polish authori - ties have sent two protests to the Danzig Senate complaining of interference with Customs officials and unjust dismissals from shipyards. POLE SHOT SUDDEN INCREASE OF TENSION. APOLOGY BY THE DANZIG SENATE. (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) DANZIG. July 20. The shooting of a Pole at the village of Postelau has suddenly increased the existing tension. The Danzig Senate has apologised to Poland, where the incident is regarded as an inexcusable provocation. HITLER’S PLANS AGAIN MEETING DANZIG LEADERS. (Received This Day. 9.15 a.m.) BERLIN, July 20. Herr Hitler is again to confer with Danzig leaders at Berchtesgaden next week. Nazi circles are again alluding to Herr Hitler’s plan for the peaceful absorption of Danzig. GERMAN BLUSTER GENERAL BRAUCHITSCH WARNS POLES. (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) BERLIN. July 20, General Brauchitsch in a speech at Tannenberg rejected alleged Polish claims in East Prussia. He warned Poland: "We are not seeking war but fear it oven less. I want to emphasise that this is old German land.”
