NINE MILLIONS GRANTED TO NEW ZEALAND DEFENCE AND OTHER PURPOSES STATEMENT BY MR NASH. PROGRESS IN CONVERSION NEGOTIATIONS. By —Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, July 20. The New Zealand Finance Minister, Mr W. Nash, stated that Britain had agreed to a £5,000,000 credit for New Zealand Government purchases for defence and other purposes and that £4,000,000 has been allotted for private imports. He added that the loan conversion negotiations are proceeding satisfactorily.
