SAFE AND ALL WELL
YACHT FAITH SIGHTED OFF CHATHAMS. UNDER SAIL NEAR CUBA CHANNEL. (Ey Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The yacht Faith, reported missing off the Chatham Islands since Monday, was located yesterday, all her crew being safe. A message received in Wellington yesterday evening from the Chatham Islands radio station stated that the captain of the trawler South Sea had reported that the Faith was located off Cuba Channel, under sail. Her crew were all well. The Faith left the South Sea on the north coast of the Chatham Islands on Saturday night. Land patrols searched the coast in the neighbourhood of the trawler’s position, but returned at 9 o’clock on Monday night without seeing any sign of the yacht or its crew. Five launches also scoured the coast round the islands without success. Those on board the Faith were the owner, Mr W. Marsh, Christchurch, his brother, Mr J. Marsh, and Mr Roy Hough, a Chatham Islander. The yacht was built in Christchurch by her owner and has been engaged in the fishing industry at the islands for some months. Early this year she made the trip from Lyttelton to the Chathams and back. The craft is stoutly built, and is of a seagoing type similar to Erling Tambs's famous yacht Teddy.
