WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNCIL MEETING. RATES STRUCK FOR YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Wairarana South County Council was held at Carterton today. Those present wrye Mr D. McGregor (chairman) and Councillors Alex McGregor, C. D. Camcron. F. W. Joblin. F. Court, L. S. Gallen. E. W. Allen and A. E. Reid. The rates for the ensuing year were struck, the principal ones being general rate 1 5-8 and hospital 11-20 d. Metalling had been done m And""ern's line and slips cleared on the Hururua and Mangatarere Valiev reads, reported the county overseer. A creek had been cleared out on Somerset Road. Metal had been graded in, watertables cleared and general maintenance work done on Ponatahi. M ;, i_ Longbush and To Hopi roads. Sli —• wee cleared on the Admiral Road and Wainuioru Valley Read. Crushing was continued during the month at Gladstone* for construction wm'k on the Carterton-Gladstone highway.
