In the tennis tourney, Crawford (Australia) defeated Doeg, 6/2. 5/7. 7/5, and Quist (Australia), defeated Dee, 6/1. 6/3, 6/1. Doeg's steady stream of chopshots troubled Crawford in the second set. After being down 1/4, he rallied to tie at 4/4, but a break came in his service at the twelfth. Quist never game a chance to Dee, who is a Stanford University star. Quist has eliminated the hop on his service, thus overcoming footfaults, none of which were called today. Quist and Crawford defeated Roberts and Bascom, 6/2, 6/1. Quist meets Low. a Stanford University star, on Friday in the semifinals. Crawford meets Mulloy tomor-j row in the quarter-finals. :
