ACTION TAKEN

UNION’S REGISTRATION CANCELLED. STRIKE OF MANURE WORKERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The registration of the Otahuhu Chemical Manure Workers’ Union, members of which have been on strike for some time past, will be cancelled as from today. This announcement was made yesterday by the Minister of Labour, Mr Webb, who said that action had been taken under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1939, passed on Tuesday, and notice of cancellation would appear in the Gazette today. A message from Auckland states that the chemical manure workers,met in the Trades Hall and unanimously decided to apply for cancellation of their union’s registration. There were 250 men at the meeting. The men were determined to continue the strike.
