DUKE OF KENT

There was a memorable and impressive scene at Olympia on the occasion of the installation of the Duke of Kent as Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, in succession to his great-uncle, the Duke of Connaught, who occupied the position from 1901 to 1938, when the King was installed.
The Duke of Kent gave a perfect rendering. The dignified ceremony was witnessed by 10,000 brethren from all parts of the world. United Kingdom applications for admittance were thrice in excess of the seats available, necessitating a ballot. The Duke of Kent had previouslj* been installed as head of the Royal Arch and Mark degrees.
