FEARS FOR SAFETY
THREE MEN AND YACHT.
MISSING OFF CHATHAMS (By Telegraph—Press Association.; WELLINGTON, This Day. Fears are held for the safety of three men on board the yacht Faith, which is reported to be missing off the Chatham Islands. A radio message was received by the Post and Telegraph Department. Wellington, yesterday morning, from the superintendent of the Chatham Islands wireless station, stating that the captain of the trawler South Sea had advised him that the Faith left the trawler on the north coast during a south-westerly gale, on Saturday night, and had not returned. Those on board the Faith when she parted company with the trawler wdre the owner. Mr W. Marsh. Christchurch, his brother, Mr J. Marsh, and Mr Roy Hough, a Chatham Islander. Land pAtrols, it was stated, had searched the coast in the neighbourhood of the trawler’s position. The Chatham Islands radio reported that the patrols had returned at 9 o’clock last night, there being no sign of the yacht or its crew. The captain of the South Sea advised further that he intended sending out five launches this morning to continue the search.
