FIT AND WELL
AUSTRALIAN TENNIS TEAM. . ANXIOUS TO MEET STRONGER OPPOSITION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) LONGBEACH (California), July 17. Hopman, who confirmed the report lhat he and Bromwich were playing in the tournament at Vancouver on July 24, told the Australian Associated Press that there was nothing to thrill' over in defeating the Philippines team who were new to the grass and who played in their first Cup competition. “However,” he said, "it was pleasant to see another tie behind us with the team still fit and well. All were anxious to strike stronger opposition for better tennis. The best feature this time is Quist’s fine form, especially his forehand driving, which is much stronger than he displayed at any time here last year.”
