WEDDING

McKAY—BRICE. An archway of hunting crops held by members of the Rangitikei Hum Club, of which the bride's father is master, and the bride an enthusiastic follower, was formed as Mr and Mrs James McKay left St. Stephen’s Church, Marton, after their wedding there recently. The bride, Mona Faith Isabella, is the elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Brice, Rosebank, Fern Flats, and the bridegroom is the eldest son of Mr Neil McKay, and the late Mrs Christina McKay, Masterton.

White slipper satin made the bride’s trained gown, which was moulded to the figure and featured long tight sleeves and V neckline. Her tulle veil was worn over the face as she entered the church, and she carried a sheaf of lilies.

The bridesmaids, Miss Vera Hammond and Miss Joyce Galpin, cousins of the bride.’wore frocks of cream satin, the same as that of the bride. Clusters of scarlet flowers made topknots for their short tulle veils, and they carried sheafs of matching cyclamens.

Mr Alan "Wardell, Masterton, was best man, Mr Hilton George, Alfredton, was groomsman, and the ushers were Messrs John McKay and Frank Brice.

About 260 guests were entertained at Rosebank in a marquee on the lawn, which was tastefully decorated in red and green, the hunt club colours. The wedding cake was decorated with horses and huntsmen.

The bride's received the guests wearing a black angora ensemble, trimmed with persian lambskin, and black hat, and carrying a posy of violets. Mrs McKay was in a tomato costume with accessories to tone, and carried an autumn-coloured posy.

The bride travelled in a teal green ensemble with London tan hat, shoes and accessories to tone.
