YOUNG FARMERS
MASTERTON CLUB MONTHLY MEETING. TWO INTERESTING ADDRESSES. At the last monthly meeting of the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club, the a^'^y l ar £ e attendance. Among the correspondlUniS/ ence received was a letter from the Carterton Young Farmers’ Club, stating that it was willing to play off the ping-pong match in Masterton on July 27. A circular letter was received from Mr S. Freeman, re Territorial training for young farmers.
An enlightening talk was given by Mr C. Hay. of Tinui, on “Training a Sheep Dog.” Mr Hay gave some enlightening points about training heading and huntaway dogs. Above all. he said, he was in favour of young farmers having an all-round dog on farms ol up to 2000 acres. A hearty vote of thanks, on the motion of Mr D. McLachlan, was carried by acclamation.
A short talk was given by Captain Pringle on the recruiting campaign in New Zealand. He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Supper was served.
