MAHUNGA CLUB. LADIES' COMPETITIONS. The ladies played a bogey competition on Saturday, the following being the best cards handed in:—Mrs D. A. Hunn 2 down; Miss I. Rudd 5 down: Mrs A. H. Ward 6 down: Miss N. Smith 6 down. The following are the results of the second round matches for the captain’s trophy:—Miss I. Rudd beat Miss P. Madsen: Miss E. Calwell beat Miss E. Wyber; Mrs A. H. Ward beat Miss C. F. Polson; Miss B .Taylor beat Miss M. Johnson. BEST BOGEY CARDS. The following were the best cards returned by men members lor the bogey round played on Saturday: G. R. Ward 2 up; I. McFarlane 1 down; A. S. McGregor 2 down; R. B. Me Phcrson 4 down; A. H. Ward 4 down; V. E. Burridge 4 down; A. O. Jones 41 down. BIDEFORD CLUB. MEDAL COMPETITION. In a medal competition played on Saturday the best cards handed in were: S. Falloon 82-8-74 net, C. Percy 82 8 74: R. Falloon 84-10-74. TOWN v COUNTRY. A good number of members assembled to contest the Town v Country match. An additional attraction was a qualifying round for the Club Cham pionship. Although conditions were at their best with no snow, sleet, etc. to ( mar the scores it was surprising how few of those who played on the previous Sunday, were able to improve their scores. However, a few others came in to make the first sixteen quite an interesting competition. The following is the order of qualifying: J. Bell 74; G. Falloon 76, J. Thornton 78, T. Falloon 79. W. Batty 80. R. Falloon 81. J. Donald. S. Falloon. E. Wrigley, W. Percy 82. F. Candy 83. C. Faulknor 84. D. Falloon 84. T. H. Bell 84. C. Percy 85. G. Joy 87. The Town v Country match resulted in a win for the Town by 12 matches to 8. The following are the details (Country players being mentioned first in each instance): Fourballs: G. Falloon .and S. Falloon lost to J. Bell and C. Faulknor; C. Percy and T. Falloon and R. McKenzie and J. Broad all square: D. Falloon and J. Donald lost to T. W. Horton and J. Thornton; R. Falloon and W. Percy beat F. Candy and R. Mackie: H. Bell and E. Wrigley beat W. Batt’, and G. Joy; H. Smith and E. Falloon beat A. Donald and C. Sandbek; E. Davies and A. Kerr lost to G. McKay and S. Burridge.
Singles: G. Falloon lost to J. Bell; S. Falloon lost to C. Faulknor; C. Percy beat- R. McKenzie; T. Falloon lost to J. Broad; D. Falloon lost to T. W. Hor ton; J. Donald lost to J. Thornton; R. Davies lost to G. McKay. Some very good rounds were recorded in this match as follows: J. Bell 71. C. Faulknor 71, T. Horton 73. A fourball bogey competition was won by J. Bell and C. Faulknor 7 up and T. W. Horton and J. Thornton 5 up. TINUI DEFEAT RIVERSIDE. During the weekend a match was played at Tinui between teams from Riverside and Tinui.. Tinui won the men’s fourball by four matches to three and in the men's singles Tinui won 9 games and Riverside 4. one match being all square. In the ladies’ fourball each side won 2 games and in the ladies' single Tinui won 7 games, one match being all square. The following are details of the games (Tinui players being mentioned first in each case): Ladies’ fourball: Mrs Savage and Miss Groves lost to Mrs Brown and Miss Wood: Mrs Bal four and Mrs Maunsell defeated M:> Clarke and Miss Bampton; Mrs Bennet and Mrs Ashworth defeated Mr.Palamontain and Miss Dixon; Mrs Cripps and Miss Laing lost to Mis Beecroft and Miss Shearer. Ladies' singles: Mrs Savage beat MrBrown; Mrs Groves beat Miss Wood: Mrs' Balfour all square with Mrs Clarke; Mrs Maunsell beat Miss Bamp ton; Mrs Bennett beat Mrs Palamon tain: Mrs Ashworth beat Miss Dixon; Mrs Cripps beat Mrs Beecroft; Miss Laing beat Miss Shearer. Men’s fourball: E. R. Maunsell and G. Speedy lost to E. W. Perry and R. E. Baker; H. Carson and F. Bartholomew lost to F. Poole and D. Costello; B Williams and C- Bannister defeated D J.
