FROZEN MEAT
LONDON QUOTATIONS LAMB MARKET FIRM. GOOD DEMAND FOR MUTTON. Lamb market: Remains firm with prices of certain grades higher. Mutton market: Generally firmer with good demand. Ewes steady with prices unchanged. Beef market: Frozen beef, firmer; chilled beef, prices better this week on the lesser supplies. N.Z. porker pigs: Firmer, on the short spot stocks. N.Z. baconer pigs: Market quiet and unchanged. Boneless bobby veal: Firmer on the short spot stocks. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board from its London office, which advises that the following are the ruling prices of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday. Chilled beef prices are averages of the week. All prices are on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market. Prices fox' the preceding week are shown in parentheses: —

Compared with last week’s quotations, Down lamb 28/361bs and crossbred lamb 36/421bs were Id per lb higher, wether u/48 and 56/721bs Jd pex- lb higher; others unchanged. The market continues to be firm.”
