“Whatever faults social or consumer credit may have, it is increasingly obvious that the present system is out of date and highly dangerous in the sense that discontented people and discontented nations are dangerous,” said Mr D. C. Davie, in an address in Christchurch on world affairs. “There is a steady growing opinion that the defence of the present financial system is weak, and the attacks such as 'something for nothing’ levelled against Douglas Social Credit are unsatisfying.”
